Is Vitality considering buying Gambit’s spot ?
A few days ago, we announced that Gambit Gaming’s LCS spot would potentially be on sale. Such option engendered lots of rumors on the web and more specifically on our dear Reddit where, to our great surprise, we’ve learned that Millenium could be the next spot’s owner. We therefore caught Cedrix and Llewellys in a dark corridor, but buying a slot is not how we do things here (unless the issue is of an economic concern, or we arrived too late, anyway, this will be the subject of another theory).
Thus, we have decided to start our own investigation, so we’ve got very far (we will spare you Corbier’s wild theories, you don’t want to know why Pepito is going to take part in LCS). Surveying the web’s twists and turns and trying to find the clue which could solve the issue, leading us towards deadlocks. When suddenly, yesterday morning, Shaunz published on Twitter that he was leaving for Berlin with two other people, adding a clue about one’s identity, the first letter of her name.
And there it was ! By sheer luck, the day before, still in our inquiry, we fell on an old video dedicated to the show of May 2015, “parlons eSport”, starring Shaunz, in which Neo and Broken, both Vitality’s founders and famous Call of Duty players, are the speakers.
You see, we didn’t have to dig deeper. So we went to check on these gentlemen’s Twitter pages and unsurprisingly, Neo, Broken and Shaunz are following each other. Such direction was taken when we discovered that our dear Vitality partners were also following Cabochard. Oh, and this in a fully reciprocal way. Well, ok, we’re talking about French people but that is not enough to make ambitious plans. Let’s continue.
We carried on our investigation towards other Gambit members. We actually drew a blank, but regarding the staff, our research was way more profitable. Indeed, Vae, or Vaelik on Twitter, Gambit Gaming’s analyst, who was congratulated by Shaunz by the end of the split, is following Team Vitality. Though he only has 19 followers ! Interesting, right ? As a reminder, the latter had posted a message on our Gambit Gaming article, saying that he was looking forward to work with the new staff.
For Moo’s part, the team manager, becoming quite famous following his interview which spread the rumor about the purchase of Gambit Gaming, he is also following Neo and Vitality. We already have quite a few coincidences for a famous French team on Call of Duty.
Finally, the last man standing in the shadows, Haryuu, ex O’Gaming blogger. The latter had recently stated to be the official analyst for a LCS team.
Traduction : I'm officially analyst for a LCS organisation. I can't tell you more about it for now because I'm under secret.
Also followed by Broken, he could have easily been in touch with Shaunz, O’Gaming stakeholder over some events.
That’s a long way from saying that Vitality could land in LCS, but there is only one single step… which we won’t take ! Because we don’t lie, that’s a theory (a night one on top of that) and we obviously have to grant it a purely speculative value. The biggest doubt invades us when we’re thinking about the necessary funds to buy a LCS slot which can cost up to a million euros. If Vitality claims to be comfortable enough to hire Gotaga, we barely imagine them to buy alone this highly coveted slot.
We’ll certainly know in a few days if our extreme investigation plunged us into a wrong track, but in the meantime don’t hesitate to share with us your theories (even the far-fetched ones). Shaunz himself cheers us on investigating so why go without ?
