PowerOfEvil, mid laner for Unicorns of Love who is qualified for LCS EU Spring Split and finished second at IEM San Jose after their win on TSM for the semi final of the tournament, answer to our questions.
[M] Erru : Hi ! First of all thank you for answering some of our questions.
[M] Erru : You won the up and down tournament surprising a lot of people. We saw you competing at the IEM San Jose after being voted in. Did you expect such a massive popularity so soon ? What was your team's aim for this tournament ?
[UOL PowerOfEvil] : We knew the fanbase is quite big but atleast I didnt expect to get voted in IEM San Jose. Our minimum aim was to win vs Lyon. I think we were pretty happy winning vs TSM and that was our goal in the cup.
[M] Erru : New tournament and new surprise with a convincing win over TSM. Did you expect such a scenario ? What did tilt the balance in your favour ?
[UOL PowerOfEvil] : I think it was more of a tactic which totally suprised our opponent. We practiced all these picks in scrims over and over again and kept them all vs TSM and afterwards C9. I expected that it would be closer.
[M] Erru : Your loss against C9 came as a bittersweet disappointment for a lot of people. What did C9 do to beat you that TSM wasn't able to ?
[UOL PowerOfEvil] : C9 playstyle was really different to TSM one. Their support roamed alot into the midlane and we did a huge mistake, we let Meteos lee go through in every game. I felt that TSM midlane and jungle synergy wasnt as good as mine in the games vs TSM but Hai and Meteos played really good.
[M] Erru : Once again, you showed some wild variety of picks during this tournament. Should we consider that a UOL trademark ? Will you keep on searching new alternatives champions to play during LCS ?
[UOL PowerOfEvil] : I am sure our Team will keep having these non-meta picks. I think its less a trademark then our own playstyle which we like and want to keep.
[M] Erru : After two great results in your two first big events, a lot of people are now wondering how UOL will manage the LCS. What are your expectations for this upcoming LCS split ?
[UOL PowerOfEvil] : I think if we perform as good as we did till here...we will most likely be on the top. The first weeks will be the hardest. We need to get out stuff together and get used to a gaming house, which is new for me and my whole team.
[M] Erru : There were a lot of changes in current LCS teams, how would you rank those teams at the end of the split ?
[UOL PowerOfEvil] : Its pretty hard to say which team will get strongest after all these changes but I think Alliance will be on the top. I let myself suprise by the rest.
PowerOfEvil anwsered to our questions a bit time after that we gave them to him. This one talks about expansion tournament and the answer was formulated before the end of the tournament.
[M] Erru : Two more teams will be joining the LCS with the expansion tournament. According to you, who between H2K, Giants, Reason Gaming and n!faculty have the best chance at taking the spots ?
[UOL PowerOfEvil] : H2K and Giants. H2K is a strong team which always had the chance of making it. Their chance is bigger then before with the experience every of their teammates got. I like Giants, they are all nice guys and are suprising me with their games. They are looking strong and have a huge chance of making it.
[M] Erru : We see how how much team infrastructures are developing in Europe. More and more teams have coaches, managers and gaming houses. Do you guys already have this type of support behind you ?
[UOL PowerOfEvil] : We dont have this support behind us yet but I am sure when we get into the gaming house we will improve a lot more.
[M] Erru : A bit about you, we saw you playing very well during the up and downs tournament but you really dominated your lane against Bjergsen during IEM San Jose. Did you expect such a dominant demonstration against one of the best NA LCS midlaners ? How do you think you'll rank as a player in the EU LCS ?
[UOL PowerOfEvil] : First of all I am really happy that I could face bjergsen in mid and that it went this good was an awesome experience. I think I played one of my best tournaments and I am sure I can still learn a lot. I am sure after IEM San Jose people are ranking me under the top 5 midlaners, as I would see myself aswell.
[M] Erru : Thank you for this interview Power Of Evil, i'll let the last words.
[UOL PowerOfEvil] : I want to thank all the fans that voted us in and gave us the chance of showing ourselfs in IEM San Jose. I really appreciate that all the fans cheered for us at home or offline. It was the first time for me that I saw cards with : »PowerOfEvil « , so I thank everyone who did that !!! I got the POWEROFEVIL from it.
