[M] Nazca : Hi BabyKnight and thanks for answering to some questions. I can only guess you really don't want to talk right now...
It seems that you haven't touched the game for about 3 weeks, can you explain what made you lose motivation towards Starcraft ?
[M] BabyKnight : I started playing a bit of DotA recently and I realized that I had so much more fun than I've had in sc2 for a long time. I think it's a lot of things, but mainly PvZ and PvP. PvP has always been very coinflippy, and in PvZ - if Zerg makes 1 decision (to go for Swarm Hosts) they will inevitably drag the game out 1hour+ if they feel like it. That just doesn't feel right. It has nothing to do with balance, it's just not how I wanna spend my time. I can outplay the Zerg hard in the earlygame, then they get SH's out and I am forced to play out an incredibly long game to eventually wear them down, and all those games look exactly the same. It's just not fun for me.
I guess you've thought it through, but still, no one saw it coming so we can't help but thinking you might change your mind... When did you start this reflection and how sure are you right now ?
[M] BabyKnight : I've been thinking about this for a long time. SH's have been around for a while, same with PvP (duh :P). I just didn't want to tell people that I was losing motivation, in case I perhaps regained it again. That never happened though, this is definitely the right decision.
In your TL post you said you're going to play your WCS matches, however you're likely to fall to Challenger League seeing your group and your lack of practice. Would you forfeit your Challenger spot or are you really going to play those games in like 3 months from now ?
[M] BabyKnight : That's a good question. I think it would depend on my challenger match (which player I have to face). Well, in 3 months my mindset can change a lot. If I had my challenger match right now I'd probably play it but now I have my ro32 match, which I'm definitely playing. That's all I can say.
In our very first interview, and in subsequent ones you gave to other people, you stated over and over again that you prefer individual competitions, that team leagues were frustrating. How do you see your future in DotA2 regarding this point which seems contradictory ? Are you just having fun right now or are you considering a full professional switch ?
[M] BabyKnight : Right now I'm playing a lot of DotA, basically all day. I'm still really good at the game, so I think it would be a waste not to try to join a top team. I know I've stated in the past that I prefer 1v1, and back then I did. However after playing a 1v1 game for so long, I really miss the team aspect. Being a sc2 player can be really lonely at times.
What can we wish you and where can people keep on following you ? For instance, will you stream again ? Else, do you have any last things you want to say to Millenium followers ?
[M] BabyKnight : My Twitter will remain "M_BabyKnight" until I find a team in DotA 2 and I will start streaming soon™.
I wanna thank all those who have supported me in my time in sc2, I appreciate everyone, and I hope to continue to receive your support as a DotA 2 player. Thank you. <3
